JOHN Carew insists Villa have nothing to fear from Tottenham on Saturday.
Many see the two sides as potential gatecrashers to the top four, something Carew very much agrees with.
A Villa win would put pressure on the North Londoners after they knocked Martin O’Neill’s side off fourth spot in the Premier League on Sunday.
Harry Redknapp’s men went on the rampage – hammering nine goals past Wigan, with Jermain Defoe scoring five – but Villa’s own target-man feels the hosts’ home form will stand them in good stead for the match.
“We know we have a team good enough to compete for fourth place and there is no reason why we should be scared of Tottenham or the likes of teams like Manchester City,” said Carew.
“I think we have proved we can compete with them.
“We have finished in sixth place for three seasons in a row now and I think the squad and the team has been the best it has been since I came here.”
