Stud Marks: Ash hit note with O’Neill
STUD Marks can exclusively reveal that Martin O’Neill has been in discussions about a swap deal involving Ash.
But fear not Villa fans, it is the Northern Irish indie band Ash rather than Villa’s occasional England winger Ashley Young.
Frontman Tim Wheeler and bass player Mark Hamilton came to an agreement with their fellow Ulsterman over exchanging tickets.
Mark, who is a keen Villa fan, admitted: “Leprechauns like to look after each other!
“I think his daughters are fans of the band and he got Tim into the FA Cup Final.”
Tim added: “It was a good switch. He called me up when we were playing in New York and he was like ‘How can you get my daughters into the show? I’ll get you into any football match any time’, so I was like ‘Nice one’. It was amazing.”
Not to be outdone, Villa’s Second City rivals Blues also have a rock star supporter in the form of Adam Zindani of the Stereophonics – not that the Brummie guitarist likes to let on about it.
Singer Kelly Jones said: “I’ve known him 11 years and he only confessed to it two weeks ago!”
Adam admits: “I get scared so when we do interviews in Birmingham on the radio they say ‘Who do you support?’ and I say ‘Nobody’ just in case.”
