CARLOS Cuellar says he is producing the best football of his claret and blue career and is backing Villa to sustain their Champions League challenge.
Cuellar produced a colossal display at the heart of the defence and is now enjoying his time in Birmingham after an injury-plagued first year. The Spanish centre-half said: “We are playing very good and the confidence is high.
“I am really happy with the last year because before I was injured too much. This year I am feeling strong and better than the last year and I am playing better. The team is stronger and everyone is happy.”
Cuellar is convinced Villa can maintain the pressure on the Big Four, even though they were second best in the second half against Spurs.
“Both teams will fight to get into the top four,” he said.
“I think it was a good point for us all.
“It was very difficult for us because Spurs were having too many chances after the break.
“The second half was very difficult for us because we were defending so much. All our team worked very hard to not concede.
“We prepared specially because they came with high motivation and confidence and we knew we were going to have a hard game.”
