Stud Marks: Brad Friedel leaves reporter cold

WITH Brad Friedel in fine form and his well-drilled defence providing extra layers of protection, there was no danger of Villa being caught cold at Tottenham.

But even the veteran stopper was amazed at the lengths one national hack had gone to to keep out the elements on a chilly evening at White Hart Lane.

After chatting with the press following Villa’s 0-0 draw, Friedel couldn’t help chuckling at the sight of the popular reporter from a red-top tabloid.

Despite being snugly attired in two overcoats and two hats, the journalist jokingly asked the Villa keeper if he could borrow his flimsy tracksuit top to keep warm.

Friedel, who was wearing trainers without socks, declined with a smile before quipping that he could go and get a pair of goalie gloves to keep the scribe’s fingers warm.

Realising that his winter wardrobe had caused something of a stir, the reporter then started his next interview with Peter Crouch by apologising for his hats!
