MARTIN O’Neill believes Villa are in for an exciting end to the season after predicting the battle for fourth place will go right down to the wire.
Villa will be reminded of their failure to get off to the best possible start when they renew rivalries with opening-day conquerors Wigan at the DW Stadium tonight.
But the manager is calling for a final flourish over the remaining 11 Premier League games to ensure his Champions League challengers finish on a high.
Join us tonight at the JJB Stadium where we will have Mat Kendrick reporting live from the press box from 7.15pm.
He will be bringing you live updates from the game and chatting with Villa fans. Join Mat and other Villa fans tonight by visiting www.birminghammail.net/live It's really easy - all you have to do is type!
“I think with the way it’s all set up, unless one of the teams goes and wins six games on the trot now to lift itself out of the pack, then it should go right down towards the last day or two,” said O’Neill.
“That’s probably why it’s exciting. We’ve got games to catch up now and we’ve got a very heavy March programme.
