Aston Villa wing hopeful tells Martin O'Neill: "I'm ready for the Premier League"

Marc Albrighton

MARC Albrighton has confidently declared “I’m ready for the Premier League” after pleading with Martin O’Neill to give him more first team opportunities.

Villa’s wing whizzkid has been the star of pre-season so far with impressive performances in friendlies at Peterborough, Bohemians and Walsall.

Albrighton is now in Portugal for the Guadiana Cup as part of a Villa squad which also includes transfer piggy-in-the-middle James Milner.

Following his clear the air talks with O’Neill, Milner was included in the party along with James Collins whose calf injury is not as bad as feared.

Luke Young has also travelled but is still mulling over a move to Liverpool after it emerged Villa have accepted a £2.5 million bid from Roy Hodgson.
