Aston Villa: Angry fans have their say on Newcastle defeat
Aston Villa fans gave their verdict on the 6-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle. Here's what they had to say.
THOSE individuals who masquerade as Aston Villa professional footballers should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves after that non-display against Newcastle.
They should all donate their ridiculous wages to charities and the club should refund all of the loyal fans who travelled to the North-east.
In 40 years of following Villa I don’t think I’ve ever felt so disgusted as I have with this past year (forget the cup final and semi-final, we didn’t win anything) – 7-1 against Chelsea and now this debacle.
I think my love affair with AVFC is sadly coming to an end. Richard Dunne should be sold tomorrow.

I CANNOT believe what I saw at
Newcastle. What a gutless shower.
No wonder Martin O’Neill took the chicken’s way out and left us in the lurch because he knew we are on the slide and would never do what we did last season.
It was bad enough losing 7-1 at Chelsea but this. To a bunch of average Championship players. Unbelievable.
Randy Lerner has to come good now and get someone of class in.
Guus Hiddink or Joachim Loew are the right calibre for a club of our history. We won the European Cup.

I AM not going to jump on the bandwagon and slate Martin O’Neill and blame his players, etc. This was KMac’s team and therein lies the problem.
As much as I appreciate the difficulty MacDonald is facing working with a substantially reduced staff, he himself has admitted naivety in team selection. Surely it is obvious we need an experienced manager brought in ASAP.
Give MacDonald the job he was so successful at before he stepped in as caretaker as he is clearly a talented coach but a gaffer he isn’t.
It was hardly rocket science to realise young Marc Albrighton would be tired after excelling against West Ham and running his socks off in Vienna.
I’d also question the decision to throw Stephen Ireland into the bear pit that we knew would be St James’ Park on their first home game back in the big time after barely a day’s training.
I fear for us against Rapid on Thursday and Everton will have a field day if our midfield isn’t sorted out.
The space between the midfield and the back four was ridiculous. It’s no wonder Dunne and Clark were exposed.
Sort this mess out now Randy. We’re in danger of becoming a laughing stock.
Oh, and make a striker a priority.

IT IS difficult to single out any one managerial candidate as being “the one” for Villa.
It may be that KMac is not ready yet. He admitted his selection was naive but Villa don’t have the time for naive selections while he sorts himself out. I really hoped his winning streak would continue and that it would be like a breath of fresh air him coming in but I don’t think you can get smacked 6-0 by the likes of Newcastle and come out of it unscathed.
Let’s face it, the doubts about O’Neill started to really sink in when we gave up at Chelsea last season.
I know this is only one result but KMac is a really nice guy and for that reason perhaps the Prem is too hostile a ground for him.
