Aston Villa: Ashley Young wants to forget Stoke sitter - by bagging another Bolton belter

Ashley Young

ASHLEY Young hopes his FOUR-midable goalscoring record against Bolton will help him banish his sitter at Stoke.

Young’s headed miss from point-blank range at the Britannia Stadium proved costly as Tony Pulis’ battlers came from behind to win 2-1 on Monday evening.

And the Villa attacker will gladly swap the Potters for the Trotters after scoring in the claret and blues’ last four games against Bolton.

Young rates last term’s Reebok Stadium winner as the best of the bunch and was disappointed that the classy curler wasn’t voted Villa’s goal of the season.

The 25-year-old also opened the scoring in last November’s 5-1 walloping of Wanderers and notched in the 4-2 home victory and 1-1 away draw the previous season.

“I think the one last season away at the Reebok Stadium stands out for me,” said Young, who is awaiting his first goal of this season.

“That was a good goal – a good team goal. Personally I thought it should have won Goal of the Season – but that’s me being biased!

“I have always had a good goalscoring record against them. I’m not sure why, but fingers crossed that can continue this weekend.
