NIGEL Reo-Coker’s early season revival has been hailed by his claret and blue team-mates with the midfielder making the most of his fresh start at Villa.
Reo-Coker looked set to leave Villa Park during the summer after being placed on the transfer list by former manager Martin O’Neill.
But, just over a year after his well publicised training ground contretemps with O’Neill, Reo-Coker is enjoying a new lease of life under Gerard Houllier.
Reo-Coker’s battling displays against Blackburn in the Carling Cup and Wolves in the Premier League have kept new signing Stephen Ireland on the sidelines.
And the 26-year-old is showing encouraging signs of the combative qualities that persuaded Villa to pay £7.5 million for his services three years ago.
It is a far cry from last September when Reo-Coker was sent home after a spat with O’Neill at the club’s Bodymoor Heath training base.
