Aston Villa: Ashley Young happy with his Euro show

ASHLEY Young was left with mixed emotions after making his first competitive start for England during their European Championship qualifying draw with Montenegro.
The rejuvenated winger was at the centre of one of two penalty claims for the home side but, instead of getting the decision he felt he deserved, Young was booked for diving.
After weaving his way through the Montenegro backline, the 25-year-old made the most of the collision with Miodrag Dzudovic in the area.
However, the nine-cap international claims he was fouled twice, with the previous infringement coming moments before as he appeared to be tugged back on the edge of the box by another defender.
“I felt there was a foul beforehand in the first phase of play that didn’t get given and I just couldn’t do anything to get out of the way of the player coming in,” he said.
“I thought it was a penalty but that’s the way things go.
“We didn’t get it and we’ve just got to get on with it.”
Despite a whole-hearted display from Young, England were unable to break down their defensive opponents, who still sit three points above them in qualifying Group G.
But even though he had to settle for a goalless draw at Wembley and picked up a yellow card, the former Watford star said he relished his time on the pitch.
