Aston Villa: Curtis Davies extends Leicester loan spell

Curtis Davies

CURTIS Davies is set to stay at Leicester until January after Villa agreed to extend his loan with the Championship club.

Davies has been a revelation at the Walkers Stadium as the 25-year-old tries to kickstart his stuttering career.

And with defence the only area where Villa are not suffering a selection crisis, Davies will be allowed to stay with the Foxes.

"All I can tell you touch wood is there is only one area where we're not short on quality and quantity and that's defence. This is why we put him on loan. It is good that he wants to be playing football because sometimes players just want to take the money and not play," said Gerard Houllier.

Davies came on as a substitute for the final 14 minutes of Houllier's first match in charge at Villa - the 3-1 Carling Cup victory over Blackburn in mid-September.

Since then the former Luton youngster and West Brom skipper has impressed during four starts for Leicester.
