NATHAN Delfouneso has become the second Villa player in as many days to leave on loan – linking up with Burnley for the remainder of the season.

The England Under-21 international, who followed Barry Bannan out on loan, made an instant impact, scoring on his debut in Tuesday’s 1-0 Championship win at Hull.

Ipswich were keen admirers of the 20-year-old but Burnley won the race to sign the talented Brummie, who has scored two goals in 16 appearances for Villa this season.

Eddie Howe’s side are in desperate need of attacking options after recent signing Charlie Austin was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Villa manager Gerard Houllier had been reluctant to loan out his young stars but after crashing out of the FA Cup last week he is now willing to allow them the opportunity to experience regular football.

Villa do have an option to recall the striker after 28 days should they require his services in the final part of the season.
