RICHARD Dunne is backing Villa’s new signing Alan Hutton to become an important member of Alex McLeish’s ‘Home Nations’ back four.
Following Hutton’s arrival, the Villa defence is made up of internationals from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England.
And Dunne believes Hutton has displayed encouraging signs that he can fit in well alongside himself, James Collins and Stephen Warnock.
Hutton has filled the right-back void left by Luke Young, who will be reunited with Villa in Sunday’s match at Queens Park Rangers.
“Tottenham paid £9 million for him,” said Dunne. “I don’t know what happened there, but there’s rumours he fell out with the manager.
“As soon as he’s played a few more games and is feeling as sharp as he can then we’ll have a great addition.”
