VILLA winger Marc Albrighton scored the 20,000th goal in the Premier League but a late header from Arsenal substitute Yossi Benayoun robbed Alex McLeish’s men of a deserved point at Villa Park.

Albrighton’s milestone effort came nine minutes into the second half after a mistake by Gunners defender Thomas Vermaelen.

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie fired the visitors ahead with a first-half penalty, following Ciaran Clark’s foul on Theo Walcott, but Villa produced one of their best displays of the season to pull level.

The disappointment of another home defeat – which came from yet another set-piece – was compounded by the stoppage-time dismissal of defender Alan Hutton for two bookable offences.
