MICK McCarthy’s Molineux men have been told to beware a wolf in claret and blue clothing tomorrow afternoon.
Robbie Keane finally returns to Wolves as a Villa player 13 years this weekend after almost travelling in the opposite direction.
And close friend and team-mate Shay Given admits the stage is set for the Irish striker to open his goal account for his new club.
“We saw with Thierry Henry last week that fairytales do come true sometimes,” smiled Given.
“It would be amazing if he could score, especially in a big derby.
“Wolves is where it started for Robbie but I am sure he would just want us to get three points.”
Keane was restricted to a brief cameo on his debut against Everton last weekend but Given insists the 31-year-old forward has already lifted the Villa dressing room.
“I am delighted Robbie is here,” he said. “He is a big personality and a big-game player. He has showed this week in training how big a player he is.
“He has given the changing room a big lift and given the manager a headache now to get him in the team.
“When you sign a player of his calibre it gives the whole dressing room a lift, not just strikers like Darren Bent.
“It gives everyone a kick up the backside that he is breathing over their shoulder or pushing the manager for a start.”
Given also hopes the presence of his international captain in a squad which includes Richard Dunne, Ciaran Clark and Republic exile Stephen Ireland, could be a positive boost for the country’s Euro 2012 prospects.
