ALEX McLeish admits the time has come for Villa to make a point against the Premier League big boys in front of the Villa Park loyalists.

Other than the remarkable victory at Chelsea around the turn of the year, Villa have a disappointing record against the top flight’s top clubs.

And the claret and blues have yet to take a single home point against the established powerhouses in front of their home fans, with defeats to Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

But, ahead of Sunday’s match against Manchester City, McLeish has urged his players to take inspiration from Everton, who recently shocked the title-chasers.

Villa’s winless run at Villa Park goes back six games to November 5 when they overcame Norwich 3-2.
