IT’S not just Chris Herd who is on the road to recovery after his season stalled...

So too is his car – thanks to a helping hand from Ciaran Clark.

Herd is renowned for having a good engine, but the same could not be said of his motor when it broke down on Thursday afternoon.

Fortunately, Clark’s versatility extends to being an amateur mechanic and he eventually jump-started his colleague’s car.

Clark could give Herd another start at Wigan this weekend, with the Irish utility man’s injury potentially accelerating the fit-again Aussie’s first-team return.

Luckily neither of them have been suffering with any tow problems.
