McSheffrey: We need a ruthless streak

GARY McSheffrey called for Blues to develop a ruthless streak after losing to Blackburn Rovers for the second time in 10 days.

And the winger's take on a key second-half decision was that he should not have been flagged for offside when he despatched the ball past Brad Friedel.

"I had a feeling I was onside," he said. "Seb Larsson pulled the ball back from the byline and there was a man down on the floor next to him.

"They went up the other end and got a dubious penalty. Those are the margins.

"I didn't see it on the television afterwards but my feeling was that it was a high ball, they (Johan Djourou and Roque Santa Cruz) were both battling for it and he went down.

"It was a harmless challenge. That was my instinct. I felt it was a game there for the taking," McSheffrey added. "It was disappointing that we didn't, and the two goals we gave away were poor.

"It's a results business we're in and we didn't get any points again.

"We probably deserved to take something out of it, but we didn't. That's the bottom line."
