Grandstand finish delights Birmingham City's Gary McSheffrey

SEBASTIAN Larsson's dramatic stoppage-time goal at Spurs was a glorious way to clinch a vital victory for Blues - but his 30-yarder was not that much of a surprise.

Larsson is one of the best strikers of a ball at the club and he cut across it beautifully to ensure that it sailed beyond the reach of Paul Robinson.

Gary McSheffrey said it was a fantastic climax to the game after Blues had found themselves on the ropes.

"We had a rocky 15 minutes, they went 2-1 up. It was a bit hectic. Cameron Jerome's got us a great goal when we were under the cosh.

"Then Robbie Keane gets sent-off and that boosted our confidence as you think 'yeah, we can go and take the game to them now and nick it'.

"It died a bit, to be fair. Both teams had comfortable possession and were keeping it.

"But Sebba at the end, what can you say? What a goal. Kapo has produced a bit of magic to bang a cross over and Mikael Forssell's hit the bar.

"And we went on from there for the next couple of minutes. From a corner, the ball came out to Sebba. I think he won the ball back, it came into his path, and he just hit it - it was one of those you dream of. It flew into the top corner.

"I was off the pitch at the time [substituted] and I had a feeling as soon as he struck it, it was going in.

"We know he is a good player with good technical ability. When he hit it, there was always a chance and when it went in, we were all buzzing."
