Liam Ridgewell tells Birmingham City to keep cutting out the errors

CUTTING out the mistakes is something Birmingham City have talked incessantly about - and Liam Ridgewell believes their words are now being backed up by deeds.

The clean sheet on Boxing Day was Blues' first for 13 matches.

"I think you could see it," he said. "Off the back of the Bolton game there was a determination there to get a clean sheet and make sure there were no mistakes. We have to take that into the Fulham game."

The Cottagers have Ray Lewington in temporary charge after Lawrie Sanchez was sacked.

They were hammered 5-1 at Spurs on Boxing Day and slumped into the relegation zone.

Blues would not take them lightly, stressed Ridgewell. He added: "I don't think you can say it's the right time to play them. Some people think that when a manager goes, the troops rally.

"We have just got to be careful if there's a backlash from them. They will be coming here fired up, no doubt about that.

"If we beat them, that would be fantastic. After Bolton it was a bit doom and gloom, now we're on the up and hopefully we can get something from it," he said.
