Liam Ridgewell booking to spark Birmingham City reshuffle

Liam Ridgewell full

A DEFENSIVE reshuffle is required by Blues, starting on Saturday with the visit of Manchester City.

Liam Ridgewell collected his 10th booking of the season for a foul on Shane Long as he tried to nip clear past him. Ridgewell will therefore be suspended for the next two matches, which also takes in the visit to Wigan Athletic on April 5.

Martin Taylor is the logical replacement, although he is down on his match sharpness after a three-game ban.

Taylor made his comeback in the reserves last Tuesday. Rafael Schmitz is another option, but he has not been included in manager Alex McLeish's recent squads.

Full-backs Stephen Kelly and Franck Queudrue are able to play at centre-half as well, but McLeish is more likely to go for a like-for-like swap.
