Steve Bruce still disappointed by Birmingham City exit

Steve Bruce

WIGAN Athletic manager Steve Bruce has revealed his exit from Birmingham City remains a disappointment - four months after joining the Latics from the Blues.

Wigan were forced to abort a press conference at the last minute due to a financial matter involving his former club.

Bruce has since hauled Wigan out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone, but they remain in a dogfight, with City due at the JJB Stadium on Saturday.

"I had six decent years at Birmingham, and of course their team is virtually the one I put together - I think I probably signed 95 per cent of them," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post. "But I was totally disappointed with the way things ended there. I don't think that after six years it should have ended like that.

"It's gone now and my priority is working well for the people at Wigan."
