Birmingham City are bubbling again, says Alex McLeish

Alex McLeish

ALEX McLeish has insisted that Blues have got over the disappointment of the Liverpool result.

And he said the mood at Wast Hills was bubbling again ahead of the huge game at Fulham.

"We have just got to keep things positive," said the manager.

"I know people will be fed up with me using that word, but that's what we've got to be. On any other day, we would have come in on a Monday morning after a 2-2 with Liverpool and been ecstatic.

"But the players came in flat and it was obviously to do with the league position.

"But performance wise, again, at St Andrew's, the only thing that let us down was our defending.

"And it was individual moments. I don't think it was as a team because our overall goals against record is better than everybody else's.

"The team shape and organ-isation has been good as well.

"And again, if anybody criticises me for using the word 'inexperience' when analysing it, they shouldn't - that's a fact as well."

McLeish added: "We're over Liverpool, the training ground has been buzzing again. We know we've got two games left, everything else before is history - let's make history.

"Getting the points from these last two games would be a phenomenal achievement, and we are capable of getting them.

"We know what's at stake and we need our senior boys to step up to the plate and we also need them to be inspiring the younger players in the team."
