Birmingham City players have to take responsibility, says Sebastian Larsson

SEBASTIAN Larsson revealed the pain felt by Blues relegation, insisting that they were actually on the right track.

And the winger said that the players had to look at themselves for Blues 19th place finish, on 35 points.

"What can I say? It's a terrible thing. It's so disappointing being relegated.

"It's funny as ever since the new management team have come in, it's felt great.

"It's felt like we have been moving in the right direction all of the time.

"At the end of the day, it's us players who have to take responsibility.

"I don't think the management should, it's down to us.

"The players would say it's been great under them. Obviously we haven't been great on the pitch."

As for Blues chances of an instant return from the Championship, Larsson said it was feasible.

"Of course, definitely we can do it," he said.

"It's nothing we are thinking about right now as we've just been relegated.

"But as I say, we're moving in the right direction - and it may seem strange to fans reading this - but that's how it feels.

"The majority of the players are really happy with the way it's gone since the new manager took over.

"We just have to take responsibility for not keeping the club up - and come back stronger, as team we have to bounce back."
