Richard Kingson latest to leave Birmingham City

Richard Kingson full

RICHARD Kingson has become the latest player to depart Blues.

The Ghanian international has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The goalkeeper, brought in from Hammarby as competition for Maik Taylor and Colin Doyle, made just three appearances, two in the League Cup.

Former boss Steve Bruce added Kingson last summer because he was determined to carry three goalkeepers to be on the safe side in the Premier League.

After the release of Adam Legzdins, Blues have Taylor, Doyle and Artur Krysiak on the professional goalkeeping staff.

Meanwhile, Blues have announced their reserve pre-season friendlies.

Birmingham City XIs will play at Rushall Olympic (July 23), Forest Green Rovers (July 27), Solihull Moors (July 30), Kettering Town (August 3) and Bromsgrove Rovers (August 6).
