BLUES could be gearing up for Nigel Quashie’s addition on loan, in contrast to the uncertainty over Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Alex McLeish said of the West Ham midfielder: “Nigel is still training with us, even though he went back to London on Tuesday for personal reasons.

“He’s looking very good, he’s definitely got a lot of quality. We’ve assessed him so far and he’s just got a wee bit of fitness to find.

“I would like something to happen but it will be up to Nigel and whether there’s any reaction to the training he has been doing.”
