Larsson left out
SEBASTIAN Larsson was not risked at Pride Park for fear of injury.
Larsson was named on the team sheet but failed to appear for the kick off against Derby County after feeling a twinge in the warm-up.
“His hamstring was tight and it was a precautionary measure to take him out of the game,” said manager Alex McLeish.
“Our physio Tim Williamson said that if he tore it in the first 10 to 20 minutes, he would be out five or six weeks.
“You have to respect your physio’s expertise in these situations.
“I don’t know if he’s going to make it this weekend but we won’t take any chances with him.
“We would have loved Seb’s industry in the team last night, following on from the weekend, but we hope that, fingers crossed, he’s going to be okay.”
“Mehdi Nafti came in and he worked really hard for us. It was a tough ask of him to come back in after a long absence due to suspension.
“He did a solid job for us.”
