Player using his initiative causes Birmingham problems

BLUES players have been given the green light to use their nous and think on their feet – within reason.
Sebastian Larsson’s short free-kick routine backfired and set Charlton Athletic free to a breakaway equalising goal last week.
Tonight at Swansea City, should Blues get another one in such a position near to the angle of the opposition box, expect him to pump it into the danger area for Radhi Jaidi, Liam Ridgewell, Franck Queudrue and Marcus Bent.
“Seb’s free-kick was totally his idea, I can assure you it wasn’t worked on the training ground,” said a jocular McLeish.
“When I questioned Seb about it he said ‘you told us to use our initiative’. I said ‘wait a minute, are you blaming me now Seb?’.
“There’s initiative and there’s initiative. I think Seb saw the error of his ways, eventually.”
