Watford's Mat Sadler tips Birmingham City for promotion to Premier League

MAT SADLER returns to St Andrew’s on Saturday tipping Blues as likely promotion winners.

The former Blues trainee is vying for a recall to the Watford side for what he expects to be a tough, tough game.

Sadler left Blues for an initial £750,000 in January, when the Hornets were serious promotion contenders.

A year ago, they led the Championship. Now they have changed managers, chairman – even Sir Elton John has resigned – and are battling against he drop.

Blues are nicely poised on the shoulders of leaders Wolves, and Sadler says he cannot see much stopping the Midlands pair this season.

“A lot has been made of the depth of the squad Birmingham have, and rightly so,” said 23-year-old Sadler, who was brought up in Yardley.
