Cameron Jerome predicts Birmingham will dish out a mauling

Cameron Jerome celebrates his goal with Nigel Quashie and Quincy.
CAMERON Jerome has fired a warning to Blues’ festive opponents by insisting: ‘‘Somebody’s due a hiding.’’
Blues have only won by more than one goal on two occasions in the Championship this season – unlike promotion rivals Wolves and Reading, who have dished out three, four and even six-goal beatings.
Alex McLeish’s men have also suffered nervous finales to all of their last seven unbeaten games with their opponents attempting to nab something in the dying minutes due to a narrow deficit.
However, goal-getter Jerome can sense a change.
The 22-year-old believes that now Blues are scoring goals, it’s only a matter of time before they tighten up in defence and that will eventually result in some poor opponent being on the receiving end of a mauling.
“I definitely think that a thrashing is coming,” said Jerome, who has six goals to his name this season.
“We have scored three goals in two of our last three home games but we’ve got to try and keep it tight at the back. We’re a bit disappointed in the manner we’ve conceded two goals in the last two home games. We’ve still got the points but it would be nice to get a convincing victory.
“Not even a thrashing, just a 2-0 or 3-0. A convincing win rather than a 3-2 where it looks closer than what it actually is because it doesn’t give you a true reflection of how the game went.
“I think we’ve dominated a few teams at home but I don’t think the scores have reflected that.
