So far so good but we have to improve says Birmingham boss Alex McLeish

ALEX McLeish has told Blues: more of the same – and then some.
The halfway point in the Championship campaign passed on Saturday and although Blues fell to their fourth defeat – all by only 1-0 – and are just holding off nearest challengers Reading, they should not be ‘ashamed’.
McLeish said: “We can do better, we have to do better in the second half of the season but the first half of the campaign I don’t think we should be ashamed of at all.
“I told the lads at full-time that they can be very proud of what they’ve achieved. We would have liked to have got to 50 points, but 47 is a good return and we aim to kick on from here now.”
And McLeish and his coaching staff remain on the players’ case.
He didn’t like everything he saw at Deepdale on Saturday, where Preston North End edged victory in stoppage-time.
“The result hurt, definitely,’’ said McLeish.
