Young Shroot impresses at Birmingham City

IF FIRST impressions count, then Robin Shroot has done himself no harm in the eyes of Alex McLeish.

The manager revealed that the Northern Ireland under-21 international will continue to train at Blues, with a view to a transfer.

Shroot, of Harrow Borough, of the Rymans Premier League, scored and impressed in a reserve friendly against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday.

“He looks a good footballer, and he’s going to continue to train with us,” McLeish stated

“He’s a nice kid, he’s confident, he’s coming up to 21. You’d be looking at someone that age to be getting into your squad.”
