James McFadden: Birmingham must start to win convincingly

JAMES McFadden has urged Blues to stop putting themselves into precarious situations they have to bounce back from.
That was the requirement at Ipswich Town on Boxing Day after two successive Championship defeats, including the shattering Reading reverse.
But McFadden – who grabbed the winner from the penalty spot – insisted Blues were better than backing themselves into a corner every now and again.
“I think because of the previous two games, which were obviously disappointing, we had to win,” he said.
“I’ve seen a lot of things written about us having games we have to win and buckling under pressure and stuff, but that was a must win game for us, probably more so than the last two.
“It was big, to go to somewhere like Ipswich and get the three points was vital. Now we can kick on for Sunday.
“It does say a lot about us responding like that, but we can’t be looking to bounce back all the time.
“I think I said after we lost to Coventry that we had to go on a run, which we did, and we need to do it again.
“It’s a case of us hopefully winning games but certainly not losing them and making sure we’re hard to beat. We were hard to beat yesterday, they threw everything at us and they couldn’t score.”
