Kemy Agustien insists he will do better for Birmingham City

KEMY Agustien couldn’t hide his disappointment with his performance at Ipswich.

The Dutchman supplied the cross that led to Moritz Volz’s handball and a penalty that James McFadden cooly converted for Blues’ match-winner.

However, by his own admission Agustien gave away too much possession and failed to impress on his first start since the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the month. The midfielder, on a season-long loan from AZ Alkmaar, was happy with his work-rate but he expects better.

“I’m not happy at all,” said a tired Agustien. “I try to play football but sometimes it’s not possible, that’s why I lost too many balls.

“I think if people saw me today then they would have seen me not play good football but I keep working, that’s the only thing I can say. I’ll keep working and try my best.

“I am tired but I have to keep going. The players give me confidence and that’s the most important thing.”

Agustien was relieved to have played a part in McFadden’s 39th-minute winner – if only to get manager Alex McLeish off his back. “I was happy with the cross because before that the gaffer was shouting at me,’’ he added.
