knowing the market very well, they were right.”
Having secured Fulham’s Hameur Bouazza on a loan deal until the end of the season yesterday, McLeish is know waiting to see whether West Ham’s Lee Bowyer will accept an offer to come to Blues.
The ex-England man visited Wast Hills and held talks on Wednesday and McLeish is now hoping to have a deal wrapped up in time for tomorrow’s trip to Blackpool.
“It (the Blackpool game) is not too soon, there’s definitely a chance of that (Bowyer signing) but I need to wait for Lee to say that he wants to come and I’ve not had that answer yet,” added McLeish.
“He may turn around and say he’s had a better offer or he’s decided to stay put, I’m waiting to hear that.
“I thought the talks went well, Lee seemed receptive.
‘‘People can put on a face but I really felt he was generally receptive and in fact his representative told me that.”
