No danger of frozen pitch forcing a second postponement of Blues FA Cup clash with Wolves

BLUES’ rescheduled FA Cup tie against Wolves at St Andrew’s tomorrow is NOT in doubt because of the weather.
Blues have used the MacLeod cover system to defrost and protect the pitch since the original third-round match was postponed on January 3.
The playing surface is fine and expected temperatures of five degrees celsius overnight tonight and eight degrees celsius tomorrow will help.
The MacLeod cover – which rises 4.5 metres so staff can work under it – comprises a natural gas (or propane) heating unit to ward off frost and make conditions ideal for grass growth.
