Birmingham City: Marcus Bent delighted to see new faces

MARCUS Bent has welcomed Alex McLeish’s transfer window activity.

And Bent speculated that McLeish’s additions could have a positive effect on Blues’ goalscoring.

The manager has admitted he had to change the team dynamic by bringing in athletic, quick and attack-minded players.

Lee Bowyer, Hameur Bouazza, Scott Sinclair, Keith Fahey and Robin Shroot all fit that criteria.

“Definitely, you’ve got to be on your toes now,” said Bent.

“Bowyer’s come in, young Robin Shroot has done well, Sinclair, who is a good prospect and done well wherever he’s gone, Bouazza ...

“It’s good. It’s good to freshen things up as well as increase the competition.

“I feel we do need other aspects to our play. More crosses, a bit more speed – hopefully we’ve got that now.”

Blues’ goal return and creativity is something that has been a thorny issue.
