Birmingham City: Marcus Bent delighted to see new faces

Bent confirmed: “We’ve all spoken about it, the whole team has spoken about it.

“It’s not just the strikers or the midfielders, we could all do better.

“But if the strikers are not getting any service then it is hard to score goals, of course.

“That’s not putting any blame on anyone. It’s just that as a team we need to do better.”

Blues take on Cardiff City at St Andrew’s today, and Bent is expecting more stick from the Welsh fans after snubbing a move from Charlton Athletic to Ninian Park at the 11th hour in the summer.

“It’s another big game,” said Bent, who is hoping to shrug off an ankle injury.

“I think I took all the stick down there, so there’s no need to go into it again!

“It wouldn’t be anything I haven’t dealt with before.”
