Robin Shroot’s a real bargain for Birmingham City at £3k

THERE are 3,000 reasons why Robin Shroot represents incredible value for money.
That’s how much – £3,000 – Blues paid Harrow Borough FC for his services.
It was widely thought that AFC Wimbledon held the winger’s registration.
But although he was on non-contract terms at Harrow, he was their player – and they benefitted from Blues goodwill gesture.
Harrow manager David Howell explained: “I keep seeing it written that Wimbledon held his registration, but that’s not so. They released him in the summer and Robin came to us.
“When Robin went to Birmingham for a trial, they hadn’t got written permission from me – not that it was a problem – so that’s where the confusion arose.
“I waived the right for seven days’ notice of approach and when Birmingham took Robin they were kind enough to give us a ‘goodwill payment’.
“Robin was registered with us, not AFC Wimbledon, and we’re all delighted for him.”
