Birmingham City: Want-away Mehdi Nafti giving his all to Birmingham

MEHDI Nafti is still giving it his all on the training pitch, despite his willingness to leave Blues.

The Tunisian midfielder and Blues boss Alex McLeish agreed last month that a loan move away from St Andrew’s may be the best option.

Following the arrival of Keith Fahey and Lee Bowyer, as well as Damien Johnson’s return to fitness, Nafti has fallen down the central midfield pecking order.

His last appearance came as a makeshift right-back against Wolves in the 1-1 draw at Molineux in November.

Despite his plans to leave, 30-year-old Nafti, whose contract expires in the summer, remains a Blues player.

And McLeish admits the midfielder is continuing to act like a consummate professional.
