Birmingham City: Scott Sinclair loving the pressure

SCOTT Sinclair has admitted that his loan to Blues is high-pressure – and he’s loving it.

The talented Chelsea winger has before been farmed out to four clubs in order to gain valuable competitive experience.

But life at St Andrew’s is a lot different to the environments he encountered at Plymouth Argyle, QPR, Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace.

“Because this is one of the biggest clubs in the Championship it’s a different experience coming on loan here,” he said.

“I’ve been on loan to QPR and been battling to stay up, then there’s here and fighting for promotion.

“That’s why the people from Chelsea sat down with me when the opportunity came up and said it would be better to join Birmingham.

“There’s massive pressure here, everyone is expecting you to win.

“The other teams I’ve been to, there’s not really been that high level of expectation.”

When Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wanted to test Nicklas Bendtner, he encouraged the loan move to Blues in 2006-07 because he knew the heat was on at St Andrew’s.

Sinclair added: “When you are playing for a first team anyway you are under pressure.
