Birmingham City: McLeish calls on Blues to show some character

ALEX McLeish today urged his squad to stop playing themselves out of the Blues team.

McLeish has rued the inconsistency of performance among several members of the squad.

For instance, Martin Taylor and Radhi Jaidi have been swapped over, for a second time this season.

Franck Queudrue has won, and fallen out, of favour.

The midfield has been overhauled by the influx of January signings, with Quincy and Nigel Quashie allowed to exit.

And up front, the manager has tried various permutations, although injuries have been a factor.

McLeish said he hasn’t made changes on a whim, and that he would love to keep a settled side.

“I think it’s fair to say I’ve given the players a fair crack at it,” he said. “They’ve had a decent opportunity.
