“So we were like swopping and moving, making runs to different areas, and it was very hard for them to defend the corners.
“We hit the crossbar in the first-half from a corner, there were some chances, a clear handball again – it paid off.”
Lee Carsley, meanwhile, has saluted the contribution of Stephen Carr in his three appearances to date.
“He’s done really well,” said Carsley.
“He had a good, long hard think about where he was going [after retiring] and I’m glad he decided to put his boots back on.”
