Birmingham City: Alex McLeish won't be drawn on Brady comments
Mar 8 2009 By Andy Walker
ALEX McLeish last night refused to be drawn on comments from his managing director that could undermine his position at Blues.
Karren Brady’s controversial comments appeared in her weekly column for a national newspaper prior to yesterday’s match against Southampton at St Andrew’s, which Blues won 1-0.
It’s not the first time that Brady has used the newspaper to speak out and it threatens to spark war of words behind the scenes.
Reflecting on last weekend’s defeat at Sheffield United, Brady wrote: “We are in Phil Scolari territory.
“Our team is much inferior to the sum of talent at our disposal.”
But while McLeish may have been fuming in private, he refused to attack the Blues MD publicly.
“I’m here to talk these lads up,” he said.
