Birmingham City: Marcus Bent ready to take any criticism

“Whatever job it is, people need confidence. If you’re not 100 per cent then it will have an effect on you both at work and in life. I wouldn’t say that we as a team have suffered with a lack of confidence.”
Bent, a veteran of 11 league clubs, says Blues’ strikers have done extra training to up their goal tally while still taking a break from the hectic fixture schedule. “Of course you train harder, you want to better yourself,” he added. “However sometimes you’ve got to take a step back because this is a busy season and it can get emotionally and physically draining.
“The team is always working hard but individually if you want to do more then you tend to go out and do that. This season has been a bit hard but hopefully it’s getting better.”
