Birmingham City: Plenty of praise for Cameron Jerome

ALEX McLeish said it wasn’t easy to replicate the powerful performance of four days previously.

And he praised Cameron Jerome’s nuisance value in taking the game to Southampton, not least for the goal when his decisive burst set up Keith Fahey.

“It was hard to get the tempo like it was on Wednesday, against a good Bristol City side,” the manager said.

“But we tried, we forced some corners and gained territory, we were on the front foot again and we got the breakthrough.

“It was a great piece of play by Cameron Jerome for the goal, who I thought was even better today than he was on Wednesday.

“Take a risk, I said to the front guys, take a risk. Cameron ran at people and sometimes you don’t think it’s on, but because of his power and pace he gets past.
