Birmingham City: Plenty of praise for Cameron Jerome

“And I think the awareness he showed for the goal was great, something I think he can do better. Some strikers see the goal and think ‘I’ve got to have a swing at it’ and defenders are in front of them.
“This time, rightly, Cameron realised he couldn’t get the shot through, there were too many in front of him, and he made a great square pass to Keith Fahey.”
Blues again had a decent penalty appeal rejected. They have been awarded one all season.
“Martin Atkinson was pretty close to the action there and it looked as if Cameron had been chopped,’’ he said.
“Because of the way he had been playing, it was if he had evaded the guy, nobody could touch him.
“Because Martin Atkinson was there, you’d like to think that the referee has called it right. But from the dugout it looked a good shout.
“We kept at it in the second half and I thought the players fully controlled the game.”
