Birmingham Mail users slam Birmingham City MD Karren Brady

Jobluenose: Storm in a teacup... I found her column quite amusing - which I'm sure was her intention.

andyblue: So Karen is now saying that her comments were edited by the newspaper and misrepresented what she actually wrote, is she. It would be nice if Karen were to make the original article available for the rest of us to read so we can make our own mind up about what she meant.

To me Karen's column reflects what the newspaper wants and that is insider gossip and she seems happy to provide it. What else does she have to say that the paper would want to print? Championed by the paper as the ‘first lady of football’ it seems to me that she mostly concerns herself with trivia from the lunch tables of the great and the good in the football world and not an insubstantial amount of name dropping.

As a supposed role model for women in football and business it is a shame that Karen does not distance herself from this kind of thing as it will in time damage her image rather than enhance it. No question she has a high profile in the media because of her role and achievements at Blues but it seems a pity that she risks her hard earned reputation as an able business woman for that of an acid tongued gossip columnist in a tabloid. But that is her choice.

As for the comment about entering Phil Solari territory and our team being much inferior to the sum of talent at our disposal following the Sheffield United defeat they were spot on for me. It is no bad thing that the manager and his staff are fully aware that the Board and many of the fans are not happy with performances and some results but not from the back pages of a daily tabloid.

Let your heart beat strong and all that.

CliftonBlueRoger: Regardless of the editing what Karren Brady said is true about the team not being as good as the individuals in it ( or words to that effect ). We have all complained about that this season .

Now it may be coincidence but her last 2 columns in The Sun have been crtical of McLeish and he got lukewarm support from Ms Brady at the AGM - since then he seems a man galvanised .

The team now attack and work as a team and McLeish seems more determined and feisty - his laidback demeanour prior to then must have affected the players .

If Karren Brady has galvanised McLeish and the team then more power to her elbow .
