Birmingham City boss frustrated as strikers again miss out

ALEX McLeish admitted his attackers lacked the crucial ingredients in the final third to see off Barnsley last night.

The Blues boss had mixed feelings with the point his side brought back from Oakwell after Martin Taylor’s 85th-minute equaliser.

On reflection and due to the results of those around them, the draw in South Yorkshire did no harm to Blues’ promotion push.

On the other hand McLeish was disappointed to see his side play without the urgency they showed during their last two home games.

However, a factor that is becoming even more frustrating is his strikers’ lack of goals. The last Blues striker to find the net was Marcus Bent against Nottingham Forest seven games ago.
