Martin Taylor goes from villain to hero to earn Birmingham City a draw

Taylor added: “We were solid, but nothing really clicked, we didn’t create a great deal.

“They defended well, to be fair, and Cameron Jerome had a few sniffs, but that was about it.

“The last five minutes, at 1-0 down, it was a point gained. Over the 90 minutes it was two dropped.

“But we didn’t do enough over the whole game to deserve the victory really.”

Taylor said that Blues weren’t sweating that Reading had an advantage due to having played two matches less.

“You prefer to have the points on the board at the minute,” said the centre-half.

“We know if Reading win their two games in hand they can go above us, but they’ve got to do that still.

“If we can get a good result Saturday and then win our home games, we will put ourselves in a really strong position.”
